Blue and Grey Socks

Here they are! The lovely, cozy socks that I knitted.

I finished these a while back, but since I didn’t have a blog then, I decided to share them now. They are the first complete pair of socks I’ve done.

My first try at sock knitting consisted of one large sock made with  jewel-toned variegated worsted-weight Red Heart Super Saver yarn using size 2 needles and the above pattern. (I didn’t know about yarn weights yet, so I grabbed the Super Saver when I wanted to make myself socks because I had it and it was pretty). Well, that was a lesson in two things: sock construction (all the stitches were even and doing the right things in the right places), and the importance of yarn weights (it would be roomy on my dad’s foot). So, that sock is either stuffed away in a closet at my mom’s house, or I may have unraveled it.

My second attempt at sock knitting went much better. But alas, I’ve run out of time for the moment, so more on that later 🙂
